Energy Saving Devices
Maintaining the efficiency of your current heating system through annual cleanings and maintenance is of utmost importance in energy conservation. Older, inefficient equipment should often be replaced with modern high efficiency models - saving both energy and money over the course of time.

The addition of supplementary components to your heating and cooling system can also increase its efficiency. Below are just a few of the products that T. Webber recommends to help in your conservation efforts.
  • Programmable Thermostats: One of the easiest ways to conserve energy and save money with your home heating is to install a programmable thermostat. These devices allow you to customize your home's heating system by programming separate temperatures for the various seasons of the year, time of day, or day of the week. By coinciding your heating and air conditioning with your daily living, working, and sleeping schedules - you can maintain the optimum level of comfort and save energy.

  • Outdoor Reset Controls: Your heating system does not require the same amount of energy to maintain itself throughout the year. In the dead of winter you need much more energy output from the boiler than in the summer. Outdoor reset controls modify the water temperature in your heating system according to the temperature outside, thereby conserving energy and increasing efficiency. Not to mention the added benefit of constant comfort!

  • Tankless Hot Water Heaters: Consider the installation of a tankless hot water heater. Unlike tank water heaters, tank-less heaters only heat water as it is used. This saves energy by alleviating any "standby loss," the energy wasted to maintain a traditional tank's temperature throughout the day. Tankless hot water heaters can be up to 50% more efficient than their conventional counterparts. And, all homeowners who install tankless hot water heaters are eligible for a $300 federal income tax credit.
