Water Saving Devices
Water Saving Devices
Besides making small behavioral adjustments in your daily life there are many plumbing products that can help conserve water. Below is just a sampling of equipment recommended by T. Webber Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning to assist you in your conservation efforts.
  • High Efficiency Toilets: Consider replacing your older toilet with a high-efficiency model. Toilets built before 1992 can use up to 7 gallons of water per flush. Outrageous, when you consider today's standard toilets use a mere 1.6 gallons. By switching to newer models, you can cut your water expenditure drastically. High efficiency models, which uses as little as 1.0 gallon per flush, will conserve even more. And thankfully, with today's technological advances, you don't have to sacrifice performance for efficiency. Some high efficiency toilets have rated higher than their standard counterparts!

  • Dual Flush Toilets: Popular outside the United States for quite some time, dual flush toilets are recently finding their niche in American society. These eco-friendly models put a new spin on water conservation, by allowing for two separate flushing functions to dispose of waste. A full volume flush is used for solids, while a reduced volume flush for liquids.

  • Faucet Aerators: Installing an aerator is one of the most effective ways to save water. Aerators reduce the amount of water flow through the faucet by mixing air with water. They are a great way to improve your faucet's efficiency without sacrificing performance.

  • Hose Spray Nozzles: By attaching a pistol-type sprayer to the end of your garden hose, you can adjust the rate of flow. It also keeps water from continuing to run when you put down the hose without turning it off. No more water waste!

  • Low Flow Shower Heads: Conventional showerheads use between 4-8 gallons of water per minute. Installing a low-flow showerhead, which uses less than 2.5 gallons of water per minute, is a very practical way to reduce water consumption. Upgrading your shower head cannot only save you water, but can also reduce your water heating bills.
